rebuilding our community

Paradise citizen honored for 50 years of service.

On Sunday, November 9, 2008 Albert White (90) was honored at a dinner at Jerusalem Church in Fort Mill, SC.  The Golden Rule Masonic Lodge #102, an affiliate of the Free Masons, presented a 50 Year Certificate of Service.  Lewis F. Murray, Grand Special Deputy of The Masonic Order in York, SC was on hand to give special recognition to Mr. White.  "Brother White and many others like him paved the way...if it hadn't been for men like him, the type of history that was made in the country this past week (November 4, 2008) ...they were the ones that did it.  They helped pave the way."   Mr. Murray said.

Mr. Williams, head of Masonic Lodge #102 spoke during the occasion and expressed his personal fondness of Mr. White.  "They always say that we should give a person his glory while he lives... he is a wonderful man.   Mr. Albert White took me in when I was green.  His advise and wisdom has taken me to where I am today."   Mr. Williams said.

Citizens from throughout the community turned out to show their love and appreciation for their long time friend.  Mrs. Anna Potts Dixon, like many of the guest at this festive occasion, is a member of a sister organization of the Masons, The Eastern Star.   The Golden Rule Lodge and The Eastern Star organization have a long history of working together to help improve the quality of life and well being of people within the Paradise community.
